3 – Hosting a Web Site

Hosting a Web Site…
The Location of Your New Home!

In order for the world to share your destination, you need a home on the Internet.  You need a hosting solution that will meet your need and allow you to grow.

First: Let's look at the various hosting options.

If you search on Google for website hosting, you will get over 267 million pages of responses. The number of hosting companies is staggering! You can spend hours sifting through the details looking for the best solution.

My advice: Find someone you trust and ask them who they are using and if they are satisfied. I have used over five different hosting companies and have two that I recommend regularly to family and friends.

Here is what I look for in a good hosting company:

    * cpanel
    * server size
    * bandwidth
    * reliability
    * customer service (24/7)
    * cost
    * number of domains
    * fantastico

You may not understand what all of these terms mean. If you go through the tutorials I explain the key terms you need to understand. You want to find a solution that will meet your needs for now and will allow your business some growth.

Here are the top three that I recommend:

HostMonster is a new service I started recommending.  They are similar to BlueHost and they are running a special (at the time of this writing) for $5.95/Month.  (Unlimited space, unlimited bandwidth and unlimited domains!)  Awesome deal!

BlueHost: Lots of space, bandwidth, great customer service and reliability, fantastico and unlimited domains for $6.95/month

Hostgator: Lots of space, bandwidth, great customer service and reliability, fantastico and unlimited domains for $9.95/month.
