There are many ways to drive traffic to your website. Here are a few:
*

*
Word of Mouth
*
Traffic Networks
*

*
Articles
*
Press Releases
I would recommend that you start off by focusing on one method and then add the next and so one. I have tried to attack all of these
at once and it is overwhelming. Since then I have learned to focus on these systematically and have gotten much better results.
First make sure that you have implemented the basic search engine optimization techniques.
(Read through SEO Made Easy and implement the suggestions.)
Next start writing articles. Use the content from your website and your knowledge base. Put together a schedule for writing at least
one article a week and submitting them to different directories.
Now you can look for joint venture partners. Look for someone who would want to sell your product. They can be in the same niche if
they aren't selling a competing product. If your product is complementary, they will probably want to offer your product their list.
PPC is 'Pay Per Click' advertising. There are several avenues for using ppc. The most popular is Google Adwords. You write a classified style ad that Google places when your keywords are typed in the search engine. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad. Yahoo also their own PPC service. If you are new to this, Perry Marshall is an expert and trusted source in this area. I would recommend that you at least sign up for his free course.
You can advertise on other website, in newsletters, ezines, and classified ad sites.
Issuing a press release is another way bringing attention to your product or your website. PRweb is a good resource.
There are several link exchanges. Be careful about not going to a 'link farm.' Ken Envoy has a good system.
Traffic exchanges can be useful. I like Traffic Swarm. You can set them up as your home page to earn points every time you open your browser.
I have just scratched the surface on these topics. There is a ton of information on each one. You can take courses and buy books on earch topic. I will continue to add quality resources as I find them. If you are on my list I will let you know when I find something that is going to save you time and money.
